NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed Proposals will be received by the Town of Somerset on behalf of the Town of Somerset Wastewater Treatment Plant at 8700 Haight Road Barker NY, 14012, up to 2:00 P.M. E.S.T. or E.D.S.T., whichever prevails at the time, on Thursday September 18, 2025 for the work described below at the location indicated.

CONTRACT NO. 22-1
WENDEL PROJECT NO. 29660120
The base bid work consists of providing and installing a sludge drying bed including concrete retaining walls, sand, stone, fabric, sludge distribution lines, drain lines, and all other equipment shown on the plans. The base bid work also includes the removal and disposal of the existing lagoon 2 equipment. Removal, dewatering (20% solids), chemical addition (PAC), and disposal of sludge from existing lagoon. Inspection and repair of clay liner in the lagoon as needed to provide a working system. Providing and installing a new lagoon system including all piping, fittings, valves and equipment startup. The Contractor shall furnish a mobile trash pump for pumping operations. The Contractor is responsible for all permitting and testing requirements for proper disposal of all materials.
The alternate bid work includes the removal and disposal of the existing lagoon 1 equipment. Removal, dewatering (20% solids), chemical addition (PAC), and disposal of sludge from existing lagoon. The Drawings, Specifications and Contract Documents under which the work is to be done are on file and may be examined at the office of Wendel WD Architecture, Engineering, Surveying&Landscape Architecture, P.C., 375 Essjay Road, Suite 200, Williamsville, New York 14221 and at the office of the Town Clerk.
Copies of the above-mentioned documents may be viewed and ordered through the following website on or after Tuesday August 19, 2025, www.avalonplanroom.com in the Public Bid section. Bidders will be charged a non-refundable fee, made payable to Avalon, to receive project documents and be placed on the plan holder list. Shipping and copying will be an additional cost to potential bidders. If you do not have internet access or have questions on ordering from the site, please contact Avalon Document Services at (585) 242-9999. Drawings and specifications can be picked up at Avalon Document printing at 89 Allen Street, Rochester, NY 14608. Payment can be made by credit card or by a check made payable to Avalon Document Services.
An optional pre-bid meeting will be held at 9:00AM prevailing time on September 3, 2025 at the Town of Somerset Wastewater Treatment Plant at 8500 Lower Lake Road, Barker NY 14012. Attendance at the pre- bid meeting is recommended but is not mandatory.
The Town of Somerset reserves the right reject any and all bids.
